For some of you this may be a little late... but nonetheless I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and an early Happy New Year! I hope all of you had a productive year so far (unlike me) and enjoyed every part of it. Hopefully your holidays have all been a joyful one so far, and continue to be fun-filled and amazing!
And now for some ranting, so feel free to ignore this part (although there's probably not going to be many of you reading this anyways.)
It's been a long time (almost a year) since I've last posted anything, journal or drawing. I'm very sad that I didn't get to spend much time drawing or posting on dA, since I've been mainly just focusing on school and my family. My little brother is one and a half already, he's growing up fast, and turning cuter and cuter by the second! This year I'll be graduating from high school, so there's many things I've been preoccupied with. But it's not like I haven't been drawing at all. I've attempted drawing many times, but somehow my inspiration and motivation are just lacking, and I end up giving up half way. I have so many unfinished pictures lying around in my folders... I don't even know which is which anymore. Some of them are from as far back as two years ago.
With the way things are going, I don't think I'll be getting any drawing done any time soon. Also, since the post-secondary path I'm pursuing is not art related at all (in fact, it's the opposite of art, and it kills all creativity. It's either science or math), I think my time left for drawing will continue to diminish. But art will always be my way of expression, and a wonderful hobby that help me release stress, so it's not like I'm never going to draw again.
I also realize that I haven't had the chance to explore many different styles or techniques yet, and my knowledge as an artist is very limited. Perhaps this is also why sometimes I can't get myself to continue, or even start my drawings because I feel like they're always lacking something. So as a way to improve myself, and also give back to those of you who have always been supportive of me, I'm going to accept requests/trades again (but I still have the right to refuse).
You can request for specific characters, situations, scenes, etc. But I can't promise you exactly what you want, as I will need the room to experiment with different styles. I also can't promise how fast I will be able to finish the request, or even if I can finish them at all (due to reasons I've mentioned before). But who knows, this will be more of a challenge for me and I will be far more motivated to draw for others than for myself.
I'm gonna leave with a final question for all of you artists on dA, just for reference: Are you considering/already pursuing an art related career in the future/currently? Why or why not? And if not, what path did you choose instead?
